Mike Deutch joined our training staff in the Fall of 2011.
Mike was highly recommended by his Franklin & Marshall head football coach John Troxell, a longtime friend and Lafayette College teammate of Pete Ohnegian. Mike was a biology major, astute violinist in the orchestra and a 2nd Team All American tight end. Mike tallied a very impressive 18 touchdowns in his junior & senior seasons for the Diplomats.
Mike was an immediate asset to our staff. He has successfully transferred his intensity for playing football at the collegiate level to teaching, motivating & encouraging All the members of our GE Team. He was a hard worker in the classroom, weight room and on the field making him a natural role model at GE.
A multi-sport standout at Vernon H.S., Mike had the pleasure of playing football for his Dad, Fred who continues to teach and coach at Vernon. Mike still has the competitive spirit, most recently challenging himself in a 10+ mile Mud Run in Pennsylvania.
With the expansion of Good Energy Training beyond the Shop, we anticipate Mike will take charge in "the BackYard." He will oversee our Strength & Conditioning program and implement specific protocol for our Individual based Athletes Training.
The GE Team is excited to have Mike on staff. He adds "youth" to our team and possesses the professionalism, work ethic and leadership expected from our Team. His experience both on the playing field and in the science lab, make him a competent and affective Strength Coach and Motivator for GE!
Mike's a native of Vernon, but currently resides in Montvale, NJ.
