Ridgewood 20 - Toms River South 4
Wednesday May 20, 2009
Group III - number one seed Ridgewood handled Toms River South's early offensive output by shutting the door and not looking back.
After a close first period, 5-2 R'Wood...South could not keep up with the scoring barrage or assert themselves in the offensive zone.
What "S" word matters the most?
In this picture of Mike Giordano (#19-White), there are three STRONG defenders with a lot of SIZE, but Mikey's SPEED & STICK SKILLS allow him to SCORE easily!
I hope you ALL picked SCORE for the appropriate "S" word, followed by Stick Skills, Speed.....and then Strong & Size...IN THAT ORDER!
Too often we are hooked on the WRONG intangibles when it comes to Athlete's success in their Sport!
GOOD BOY, MIKEY. GO GOOD ENERGY! |

Mahwah 10 Highlands 3, but NH "In" County Tourney
May 11, 2009
On Monday, lots of GE Athlete's were playing down the street @ Northern Highlands.
The stakes were high as the T-Birds were hoping to score a "play-in" game into the County tournament and Highlands just cracked back into the Top 25 yesterday @ No. 23 in the polls.
Mahwah pulled off the 10-3 beating of the Highlanders, but it was Northern Highlands that was picked to play in the County Tournament, not the victorious T-Birds.
Two of Mahwah's runs came off the bat of Anthony D'Alessandro, and we were glad to capture some of our athlete's in action Monday.

Monday, May 11, 2009
As printed in the Bergen Record this morning, Eric "the Bear" Anderson, is leading Bergen County with 7 home runs.
With that type of power, it's not a surprise that Highlands has been on a tear lately, ripping off 7/8 wins the last two weeks and back in the top 25 rankings at No. 23.
Bear has also been a standout on the mound - recording 5 victories as a pitcher.
