AMBS Reindeer Run - Franklin Lakes, NJ
December 5, 2009
GE represented well in the 8th Annual AMBS Reindeer Run in Franklin Lakes.
The Barrett Family led the way with Michael finishing in 18:11 to take 11th place, Thomas earned a respectable 44th and pictured is Uncle Tom Barrett who completed his first 5K in under 40 minutes!
Uncle Tom clearly earns GE First Place honors for trying the "unknown" (with some GE advice) and succeeding! Congratulations, Uncle Tom!
Warren Roark finished in 24:40 and Pete Ohnegian rolled down the final hill in 28:41.
Great Job everyone....the GE REVOLUTION 2010 has started early! For more pictures of the event go to the ROSTER section.

Thank God...it was a Good Energy Friday!
Saturday, December 5, 2009
Friday afternoon Coach Barrise stopped by to drop off some tickets for the Nets game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.
WIN-LOSE or TIE...Tom Barrise is a Winner! God puts people in strange situations in life, and by the Nets naming Coach Barrise "the interim head coach" during their 17th and 18th loss - we know that God considers Coach Barrise a Man's MAN and he could handle it!
We were psyched to give Coach Barrise a Hero's Welcome with a GE HUG...make him sign his picture in the GE NEWS...and send him out with some winning Good Energy vibes!
Oh yeah...the NETS won last night! They defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 97-91. Coach Barrise was in his familiar seat on the Nets bench doing the behind the scenes work...on his messy clipboard.

Cory Connell - Ramsey Rams - CHAMPION!
Friday - December 4, 2009
| |
 |
|
 |
Excerpts from Art Stapleton's column in the Bergen Record - Friday 12/04/09
Senior running back Zach Donnarumma rushed 25 times for 269 yards and four touchdowns, slicing and dicing behind an offensive line that imposed its will against an aggressive River Dell defensive front.
"Our line played great, I picked up some huge blocks," Donnarumma said. "Everything just clicked."
Once Ramsey figured out how to contain River Dell's Avitabile – the Rams limited him to 29 yards the rest of the way — it was as if everything else fell into place.
Cory Connell was outstanding, using his speed and strength to disrupt numerous plays in the backfield. He sacked Avitabile twice in the first half and made another stop behind the line of scrimmage. When Connell was not making plays inside, Sakiri was cleaning things up from sideline to sideline, helping Ramsey neutralize Avitabile’s breakaway quickness and his ability to make things happen in the blink of an eye.
"No matter what hit the fan this year, we stuck together and kept fighting," junior defensive lineman Cory Connell said. "That’s why we won this game. We stuck together. We fought for everything we got, and we’re State champs. It’s as simple as that." |

BIG DAY for GE's HOMETOWN - Ramsey, NJ
Thursday - December 3, 2009
Last year the WHOLE town stopped... the day Ramsey's Hockey Team WON state at "the Rock" - Prudential Center.
There has been a buzz since the Rams started winning post-Rob Archetti's injury (Game 1)...and Kevin Kuruc took the reigns at quarterback leading the Rams to a 7 win regular season.
NOW it's time for the Rams to WIN the last one in Giants Stadium against River Dell tonight at 8pm for the Group II State Championship!
Pictured is Good Energy owner Pete Ohnegian's last game on Thanksgiving Day 1988. GE lost that one to rival Northern Highlands and had to share an NBIL Title with the rivals. :(
Seniors - WIN this one...and Cory Connell, Zach Klein, Kevin Carroll, Andrew Assile, Dan Martone, Patrick Doran & Taylor Derluth - use ALL the GE you have, whether it's from a few year's ago or as recent as Cory's workout on Monday after practice...and bring home the hardware!
YOUR TIME TO SHINE - 2009.

NEW JERSEY FOOTBALL - STATE FINALS 2009
Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Make your Mom proud - like Andy Romans did!
On the eve of Ramsey's showdown with the River Dell Hawks tomorrow night @ Giants Stadium we broke out a picture from the archives.
Andy was ALL-WORLD against Don Bosco Prep at their place in 2004...and went on to not only win Player of the Game, but won a State Championship and a Defensive MVP award in the New Jersey North-South All Star Game.
We hope that Cory Connell (OL/DL) Ramsey Rams and Tommy Hayden (OL/DL) Ramapo Green Raiders, can make their Mom's happy and bring some "new" hardware home too.
GO GOOD ENERGY! Good Luck to ALL GE Athlete's - present & former clients playing in the State Finals!! |

Eager, Troxell, Staff Selected to Coach All-Star Game
Nov 25, 2009

 |
|
 |
LANCASTER, Pa. - Following a 9-2 season that included a victory in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl, Franklin & Marshall wide receiver George Eager and head football coach John Troxell have been selected to represent the Diplomats at the Division III Senior All-Star Classic. The game will be played on December 5 at 1:00 p.m. in Salem, Virginia, site of the Stagg Bowl, NCAA Division III's National Championship game.
Troxell will serve as the Offensive Coordinator of the South Team. Three of his assistants, Kevin Baumann, Jason Miran, and Ernest Moore, will serve as position coaches. Eager will work in at wide receiver and as a kick returner in the contest. Eager was an All-Centennial First Team selection at both positions. Troxell was selected by his peers as the Centennial Conference's Coach of the Year.
The Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) is proud to present this exciting opportunity to showcase the Division III Senior Football Classic. The "D-III Football Senior Classic" will bring ninety players, who represent 238 D-III football programs, to a North vs. South format all-star game.
Coach Troxell is a former teammate & friend of Good Energy owner Pete Ohnegian - they played on the same defense unit at Lafayette College 1990-1993 - winning the Patriot League in 1992.

Mahwah BEATS Ramsey in "meaningless" Game
November 27, 2009
| |
 |
|
 |
On BLACK Friday, Mahwah beat their cross-town rival 35-7 in what the Ramsey coaches deemed was a "meaningless" game.
Pictured are neighbors and friends watching a flag football game this fall. They were at Finch Park to cheer on younger boys in their flag football game. Although 5 and 6 years old, the boys were playing hard and learning about how to compete.
I hope these boys and girls(from Ramsey) did not attend the game at Mahwah High School on Friday when "our" coaches convinced not only the Varsity players but Jim McConville and the Bergen Record reporters that the game against NBIL League opponent and rival - Mahwah, was meaningless.
Ramsey's J.V. team was granted the opportunity to take part in an "unimportant" varsity game to the tune of a 28-0 deficit in the first half before a classy Jeff Remo (Mahwah Head Coach) called off the dogs to maintain a respectable 35-7 outcome.
Credit to Coach Remo for not commenting on a most upsetting issue in which he accomodated his cross-town rival by moving the game one day earlier. Therefore, Ramsey would have an extra day of rest to prepare for their State Championship game on Thursday against River Dell at Giants Stadium.
Football is a game of "controlled violence" and injuries occur although we try to prevent them. There are no guarantees that student-athletes will not get hurt in gym class, practice or playing home run derby over the weekend.
Good Energy is upset that Ramsey conceded a loss and the coaches took a game away from boy's who only get the chance to play a certain amount of games before they NEVER play football again.
At GE - EVERY game is important and win, lose or tie - playing to COMPETE and TRYING TO WIN is ONE of the most important aspects of Sports. Sports are a physical outlet for people to compete, but also can teach participants valuable lessons about life.
What did the Ramsey Varsity football team learn on BLACK FRIDAY? Some things in life are meaningless?
